Music

EDIT (13/10/2008): I just bunged a fair few of my tracks onto an Opentape, which you can listen to right here. END EDIT.

I used to be a solo artist, and I released an independent solo album called “Earthman”. You can listen to it on last.fm or even buy it from Fivetrees or the iTunes store.

Then I joined a band called Claytown Troupe, and played with them for a year. They still haven’t disbanded, though they appear to have replaced me. Would have been nice if they’d told me.

Then I joined a band formed by an old friend, which was at the time called Little Monkeys, then Crashstars. This project is now on hiatus – but check out the MySpace page if you want to hear some tunes or the iTunes store if you want them to keep.

This page will be fleshed out a bit more when I get some time, yo.

  • Hello!

Just writing to say hello and not much more………;-)

Oh, I own a RGR321EX…it’s nice. Thinking of swapping out the fake “designed by EMG” pickups for an 81 and a 60 (usually config). I play with a Spider 3 amp which is really cool, although I can’t turn it up too far or it will destroy my bedroom wall (think Leftfield and Brixtn Academy).

Was looking at your 540II, apparently due for a re-release. May have to invest or grab a vintage 1. I luv reverse headstocks.

Well hi, Scarlett, thanks for the comment.

The 540PII is due for a re-release, you say?? I shall have to look into that… I still miss that guitar. :-)

  • clive says:

    Yo there Rootbeer Rob!

Yep, all is going well all things considered. A few more collapsed bands, a few more pints drunk, a few more wrinkles, you know how it goes.

    Hello mate,

Claytown Troupe – I remember going to see you play with them at the Joiners in Southampton – turning up in a suit and being mistaken as an A&R man by the student acts you were on with.

Mentioned it at work the next day and a bloke called Glen said “Claytown Troupe – I met the lead singer once. What a wanker”

    • clive says:

Hey Jim, long time. Hope all is well with you and yours.

As it happens, the possibility exists this year of getting back together with Claytown. Apparently they have an ‘in’ with the Download festival at Donington, and Christian (the singer) tapped me before Christmas to see if I was up for it.

Allegedly the whole thing with replacing me and not telling me was an email snafu. Odd, since all the other emails I sent got through to him, but still. Benefit of the doubt, etc. :-)

      Cheers,
      –c.
