No, really. So I’m competing in this year’s Tacheback here at Profero, and the winner will be judged tomorrow night.
To stand a chance of winning, I need you – yes YOU – to do one small thing for me. Go to that first link, the gallery page, and scroll down to my name where you will find a little red “Vote” button. Click that, and send the blank email it conjurs up.
That’s all. We won’t harvest your details, no salesman will call, your house will not be at risk, your investment may go up as well as down.
I’ll be massively grateful, and my face will owe you a small favour. How about that!
Go on… please?

I’ve added a Feedburner tracker to the Podcast feed so I can keep an eye on who’s using it etc.
So can I ask anyone who’s subscribed to it already to change your subscription link to this one please:

Thanks,

The more observant of you will… ah, who am I kidding. If any of you who read this were observant you’d be out doing something more fulfilling, like… observing… stuff.
Anyway, if you were observant, then you might have noticed over there on the sidebar that there is a new linky in the pages section, and that it says “Podcast”. Oooh! Matron!
Yes, I’ve leapt bodily and wholly onto the podcasting bandwagon, and now I can do it in your ear.
SUBSCRIBE, DAMN YOU!
Ah, I just realised that even if you were observant (and you aren’t, you know) then you may still not have seen the link because you probably read clivemurray.com via some kind of RSS/feed aggregator. Anyway, the link goes to the Podcast page, which tells you about the stuff. Or something like that.

…or in fact, anyone who knows anyone who’s going to be in the USA this coming weekend – specifically Boston.
First of all read this edition of that fantastic webcomic, XKCD.
Right – as I posted a while back, the numbers featured in the panel of that comic do indeed correlate to an exact geographical location and an exact time. The first two numbers are longitude and latitude, and they correspond to a street corner in the Somerville district of Boston – the corner of Dudley Street and Cedar Street to be exact.
The other numbers are 2007 09 23 14 38 00, which obviously translates to 2.38pm exactly on 23rd September, 2007 – which is this coming Sunday.
I personally cannot afford to fly to the USA this weekend to see what happens, but please – if anyone reading this is going to be in the area, or knows anyone who is, then please please please go there at the appointed time and report back to me on what happens and/or who is there.
For the record, the writer of XKCD is Randall Monroe and he looks like this:

If he’s there, tell him “Hi” from me.

I’m pretty disappointed in you lot. Look, here’s my disappointed face (complete with Tache):

Disappointed in all of you except four, that is – Dave, Matt, Paul and Andrew, you four are exempt and I thank you greatly.
I figured that getting five people to donate a few quid to charity wouldn’t be too tricky – it’s for a testicular cancer charity, which I think is a pretty worthy cause myself – but few were forthcoming so I threatened jokingly not to post again until 3 more people had agreed to sponsor me. A week later, only 2 more people have put their hands in their pockets.
Well I’m lifting the blog embargo, but I’m disappointed. Could no-one else manage even a fiver?

UPDATE: Thanks greatly to Nick B for his support, that makes five. That doesn’t mean it has to stop there though!

I’ve got a load of things waiting to be posted, but I refuse to do so until at least three more people sponsor my Tache. There are currently two (2) sponsors. I shall not post again until there are five (5).
See previous post if you want to know more.

I am growing a moustache for charity throughout September, in aid of Everyman‘s Tacheback campaign.
You can sponsor me directly here, and you can chuckle at my progress – and that of my colleagues – here.
Go on, give generously, I won’t let you down. Who knows, one day it could be your balls on the line.

I decided that the Order and Council are too good to lose in the general blog continuum, so I made a permanent page for them. Lookee over there – there’s a link. See? Yeah, there.
