I have had an idea so good, with so much potential, that I hesitate to share it.

Really. I’ve held off posting it all day, partially because I was working, but mostly because I didn’t want to make a mess of it and shoot my bolt prematurely. I have decided I will share it though – it’s just a case of having time to get it right.

As my good friend Jake said yesterday, I had – thinking that they had pretty much called it a day with regard to playing live – accepted and made peace with the idea that I would never see Underworld live.

So the European Space Agency are seeking volunteers for a simulated manned trip to Mars. As a life-long science (and science fiction) fan with particular interest in the Solar System and space exploration as a whole, I’m absolutely fascinated by this, and can only hope and pray that a manned mission to the red planet happens during my lifetime.

Of course, the cynic in me points out that the real question here is “Where will they fake the landing?”
