Dear Mr. Michaels,

The English words “ten” and “sin” do not rhyme.

You are making a linguistic assertion that cannot be upheld. Mr B. Michaels BSc has requested I speak on his behalf.
Respected research within the field of Phonetics has clearly stated that the notion of a consistent language is erroneous in terms of the existence of universal rules (see McMahon – The Cardinal Vowel Chart – GUP 1996; particulaly Chapter 4, stress and intonation in bible belt glam frontmen 1988-2002). The southern drawl, of which my client is guilty, contains certain seemingly alien vowel sounds within which sin and ten do indeed achieve assonance.
