Had a couple of spare credits lying around at mp3stor.com. Grabbed a few cover versions from some movie soundtracks. Was somehow reminded of William Shatner’s version of Pulp’s “Common People”. Found it. Discovered it’s on an album called “Has Been”. Bought it.
Best fucking album I’ve heard in a long time. No shit. No kidding. No guff, Chet.
Standout tracks: You’ll Have Time, I Can’t Get Behind That, Has Been.
Give it a try - I guarantee you haven’t heard anything like it. And once you listen to a track or two and get over the initially ridiculous delivery, you will discover a great album.
Wow. I really wasn’t expecting that.

Again, surprised you hadn’t heard about it, given that Paul Simpson mentioned it about two years back, when you could listen to the whole album off the website.
I keep telling people about this album, and they don’t believe me:

Glad to hear of someone else who shares my view - it’s not good in a ’so bad it’s good’ way, it’s just a truly great album.
@Steve: Oh I had heard about it. I remember, because Paul Simpson mentioned it about two years back. Also the Edwards Bros were playing some of it in the car on the way to Wigan one year.
I just hadn’t heard the whole thing or given it any credence.
@Paul: Yes, 100% agreed. It’s a really personal and touching piece of work in places, and in others it’s roaringly funny - intentionally. I love it - but I was definitely surprised!
I hold my hands up, it’s entirely my fault
